11 March 2004 - The Industrial Injuries Advisory Council (IIAC) Annual Report 2003/4
The Industrial Injuries Advisory Council (IIAC), the independent body which advises the Secretary of State for Social Security on the industrial injuries benefit scheme, today announced the publication of its sixth Annual Report.
In the past year IIAC completed reports on conditions due to Biological agents, Osteoarthritis of the Hip, Neurological effects of organic solvents, Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS) and Stress at Work as a Prescribed Disease and Post-traumatic Stress Disorder. It has commenced work on Work Related Upper Limb Disorders (WRULD), Asbestos-related diseases, Silica-related renal disease and Sports Injuries.
The report gives details of the retirements and appointments that took place during the year on the Council.
The main content of the report is work completed by IIAC in 2003/4, its strategy for communication and Council’s members names and other positions held by them.
