February has seen a record number of people visiting the Jobcentre Plus website to look for work.
Figures for the first week in February show that there were just under 820,000 user visits to the website, with 3,829,801 job searches being conducted by people eager to find employment.
Compared to the same period in February 2004, user visits to the Jobcentre Plus website have increased by 150,000, which is great news for businesses wanting to recruit new employees.
The Jobcentre Plus website has been ranked as the number one site for the last 12 months in the employment sector and was rated as the 64th most visited site in the United Kingdom during January.
David Anderson, Jobcentre Plus Chief Executive said:
“With employment at its highest ever level it is welcome news that more and more people are logging on to the Jobcentre Plus website to look for work.
“The Jobcentre Plus website is a great example of how both individuals and employers can benefit from using our services.”
